Born in 1975 in Sydney Australia, Dale has always had a strong fascination with design and visual arts.
His work as a concept artist/designer on feature films has covered almost every genre,
from historic and fantasy through to contemporary works and science fiction.
He was first introduced to the visual arts through his mother, who is herself a practicing artist.
From an early age she encouraged Dale to explore his creativity, enrolling him in after school art classes.
Dale studied a Bachelor of Industrial Design at Newcastle University NSW and is self taught and proficient in
3D Maya and Mudbox, as well as traditional 2D and digital Illustration using Photoshop and Painter.
After his studies he became involved in the film industry. He was initially employed in areas such as
scenic art and sculpture but quickly found his way to the role of Concept Artist by volunteering his services.
Since 2001 he has worked on fourteen US feature films made in Australia, the most recent being
Guardians of Ga’Hoole where he worked as a designer of props, costumes and some environments.
He currently resides in Avalon on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, NSW, Australia.
